Jiang is my best friend and also a visual artist, but he 's also very fond of photography and collecting camera's. We studied together in Antwerpen, and I've learned a lot from him, we make comments on each others paintings and help each other in this way. Inspite of the fact that we have a very different style of painting we understand each other very well (we had to learn to communicate without words almost, because he doesn't speak dutch, and I don't speak chinees, we speak english together, but it's a special kind of english with chinees grammer, wich I only speak with him ). We both exposed our new work at Art Event 2009 in Antwerpen. The work we showed this time at Artevent 2009 is not on my website yet. My work this year (2009) was inspired by my middle sister Kristin, yes I am the youngest and have two elder sisters. Kristin made a small drawing and I liked it so much that I decided to make a huge painting of it, so she was my muze for this work. I asked her permission offcourse and so this drawing became something we both didn't expect it to become. But I got so many positive reactions at Artevent 2009 that I am really happy for both of us. After my mother died this summer on 26 august my sister Kristin and I grew clooser and my father's wellbeing means everything to us now. She 's also my neighbour now, because I moved my atelier to Leopoldsburg to be closer to my family. But I still live in Antwerpen for the moment, because i cannot miss the city. I made it in the hospital this year in april 2009. I admire her a lot as one of the great artists of the ninetheenth century, when visual art, especially sculpture, was supposed to be considered men's work. I work on assignments. I make portraits, cartoons, landscapes, free work, nudes and whatever you inspire me to make. You can order a painting or an idea you would like me to paint for you. This can be a copy of a painting you like or something you design or desire and than we make an appointment to discuss the format, scale and subject of the painting or drawing, the frame etc...
